When will Restaurants Reopen in London?
Outdoor Service: 12th April 2021
According to the roadmap announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, restaurants & pubs with outdoor facility will be allowed to reopen on 12th April. They must serve outdoor and strictly table service only. It applies to restaurants with outdoor seating and pubs with beer gardens.
People will be permitted to meet with one other household, or observe the rule of six, allowing half a dozen people from different households to meet.
For the time being, restaurants and pubs remain closed, permitted to offer food and non-alcoholic drinks via takeaway, click-and-collect and drive-through only.
Indoor Service: 17th May 2021 (if the data allows)
From 17th May 2021, if the data allows, restaurants and pubs will be able to serve customers indoor, however the “Rule of Six” may still remain effective. However the restrictions on outdoor spaces may be relaxed.
Key Point by Prime Minister
While announcing the four steps on Monday Feb 22, the Prime Minister stressed that this process should be “cautious, but also irreversible”.
